Executive Board Meeting Minutes

The meeting was called to order at 1:00 P.M. by President Dan Sokoloski. The following members were present:
Dan Sokoloski, Alan Fitzgibbon, Ash Tyler. Cathie Rod, Arlene Hubner, Shirley Waggoner-Eisenman, David Barkley
and Richard Boland.
REPORTS
- Ash Tyler: The plant sale was very successful, grossing over $9,000. Through Ash, Charlie Spencer recommended that the Association show its appreciation to Al Hight for his continued help to us in getting material for sale, much of which is at no cost to us. It was recommended that a gift certificate in the amount of $50.00 for dinner for Al and his wife be presented at the Association recognition banquet.
- Ash further reported that the greenhouse and restitution program are functioning well. He expressed appreciation for the help that was offered by the membership during the plant sale.
- Arlene reported that Ann Duke will help organize the recognition dinner on June 23 and the Christmas party on December 14.
- Shirley reported that since March 21 $980.00 has been deposited for Gardening by the Month. All bills associated with the publication of the manual have been paid and we have cleared over $3,000.00. There are approximately 100 manuals remaining from the third printing with another printing anticipated.
- David reported on the upcoming visit to Airlie Gardens and the New Hanover Arboretum following the monthly meeting on April 28. A van will be provided for the first 11 people who sign up. There is the possibility of securing another vehicle as required. Those who must return early should plan their own transportation. The membership will be e mailed immediately regarding these arrangements.
