The meeting was called to order by President, Richard Boland. In attendance: Richard Boland, Shirley Waggoner-Eisenman, Joe Loughlin and Ash Tyler.

Milton Coleman, Regional Director of Development gave a presentation on the Cooperative Extension Service Foundation. The BCMGVA might benefit by helping to maximize fund generation. Milton gave an overview of the fund with print outs and a general discussion of all funds offered. The amount of money invested and the type of fund would be at the discretion of the BCMGVA and the management fee would be approximately .015%.
Some of the particulars included yearly audit reports, ability of writing a certain amount of checks against the fund, use of money as needed, budget would still be kept locally, and interest from fund would be returned to BCMGVA, ability to access the 501 tax status on local budget.
Milton will respond to the answer of how many other ASSOCIATIONS in the state are part of this fund. The board will discuss this proposal and determine the objective of using this fund at the September 20 meeting. Depending upon the outcome of this discussion, Milton will be invited to present this proposal to the general membership at the October 25 meeting.

Vice President, Shirley Waggoner Eisenman asked that the BCMGVA consider hosting the NC State MG conference for 2008. Al Hight, David Barkley and Charlie Spencer have already given their approval. Sea Trail is being considered as the possible site of the event. Shirley will present this to the general membership at the August 23 meeting. More discussion will follow. She also stated that sites for the 09 and 10 conferences have already been confirmed.
Guests speakers for next years meetings are being contacted.
Shirley suggested changing the meeting time for the September 27 Social to 10:00 am rather than 9:00. The 10:00 am start time can easily lead into the Social luncheon.

Greenhouse, Ash Tyler reported that he will be getting over 2,764 plants to grow for the spring sale. Lots of help will be needed to attend to these plants.

The meeting was adjourned at approximately 10:30

Respectfully submitted,
Joe Loughlin, recorder
