Meeting called to order at 9:10 by President Richard Boland

Minutes of General Meeting, February 23, 2006 were read and approved.

Treasurer's Report was distributed. Jim Meyer made a motion to approve, seconded by Vicky Kay with approval by all.

Reports and Announcements:
Coordinator Charlie Spencer: Supply Elementary program going very well. Next presentation on soils April 4 & 5. Groups will meet to plan next program.
For all upcoming events - READ the NEWSLETTER. Fliers placed in Brunswick Libraries stating upcoming events. Oak Island Beautification club will help BCMGVA with work at Dosher Hospital courtyard garden.
April 26 Brunswick County will honor all county volunteers. April 19 from 9-12 there is a pre plant sale - sale for all BCMG Wed. Inmates are working on drainage and placing gravel at greenhouse Tues. 3/28 & 29. Volunteers welcomed.
Extension Agent David Barkley: Extended appreciation to all BCMG for all the volunteer work performed. Distributed booklet with information similar to Ag Chem manual. All BCMG seminars at Brunswick Home and Garden Show will be on Sat. March 25. Rep. from Raleigh will come to assess and create program to save rain lilies in Sunset Beach area. More plants have been purchased for April plant sale. Bulb-Mart donated 3,000 bulbs for Botanical Garden. Repair is needed for leak under bridge in Botanical Garden. Water fall has been turned off until leak is fixed. State wide televised plant clinic will be held at Brunswick Community College on 4/2 at 10:15-12:15 with future dates of 6/6 and some time in August. All are invited to attend. Shallotte Wal Mart hazardous waste collection 4/15. Presentation to MG in Bladen County on 3/27.
Committee reports:
Greenhouse Ash Tyler: Volunteers welcomed any day from 8-12 to transfer seedlings to larger pots and prepare some 700 tomato plants for Supply Elementary students.
Historians Barbara McCoy: Displayed pictures of recent events i.e.: meetings, plant sales, presentations at Supply Elementary School and other locations, guest speakers and workers in Botanical garden and greenhouse. Similar displays will be used at future meetings and taken to State MG conference in Oct. Volunteers are needed to take pictures at various MG events and work with group to create this historical perspective of the BCMGVA. Lisa Miner will help to create a digital photo display using pictures from digital cameras for use at award and holiday parties. Suggestions can be directed to committee.
Vice President Shirley Waggoner-Eisenman: Save the date for the State Conference in October in Kill Devil Hills and Regional Conference in Chattanooga TN. in June. Sue Fogle is taking Garden by Month to Hellery Bookery for consignment sale. Volunteers asked to bring $10 bills to Brunswick Home & Garden Show for making change.
President Richard Boland: All members should check personal information in directory for accuracy. Four badges given to MG for volunteers entrance to BCH&G show. Meet in front 15 minutes prior to assigned work time.

New Business:
o Motion to purchase labeler and labels for use in greenhouse and elsewhere made by Ash Tyler. Total of purchase $1,484 + shipping and handling. Seconded by Vicky Kay and approved by all members.
o Motion to use $500 from the contingency fund to purchase decorative trees from the State Forestry Service to be received and sold at 07 “free tree give away” was made by Shirley Waggoner-Eisemnam and seconded by Becky Dus. All approved.
