Night of a Thousand Lights - Chappy Jones

A dozen hearty souls made the trip to Brookgreen Gardens on the evening of December 11th to visit the "Night of a Thousand Lights" display. It was truly an enchanting experience! There were choral and quartet singers, pianists, a brass ensemble, and a remarkable one-man 'Scrooge' presentation under the big top. There were lights illuminating the giant oaks and the pathways were bordered by literally thousands of lighted candles. A large sent was set up as a gourmet buffet. Excellent seafood was available including oysters on the half-shell, soups and chowders, salads, and fried combo plates. Many gift items were also available at the gift shop. A great way to celebrate the holiday season!

Fortunately, it wasn't that cold so we have no frostbite to report. The only minor problem was a slight loss of hearing as the 'virtuoso' piano player was performing a very boisterous number! Mark your calendars for the coming year to include this special trip as an interesting way to view Brookgreen from a different perspective.
